Plasma is ionized gas, meaning some or all of the electrons have been stripped from atoms or molecules and are free to move
around. Induction heating produces plasma through a process called Inductively Coupled Plasma. 
Radio Frequency Induction plasma technology has had a significant impact on the optical fibre, ceramics and nanopowders industries. The
technology is particularly effective at spheroidizing, densifying and purifying powders such as silica and tungsten carbide. These powders are employed by manufacturers in the electronics, biomedical and energy industries. 
The whole purpose of plasma is to create a very pure glass material, which can, for example, facilitate the passage of light signals through optical cable. That’s exactly why induction heating is so suited to the cable and wire industry.
Induction furnace heating can contaminate the melted glass with impurities. Induction heating however is a totally clean process that lowers the costs-as there's no need to buy and maintain purification machines.
